70Decibels (including the Write for Your Life podcast) acquired by 5by5

Some exciting news. As you know, the Write for Your Life podcast is part of the 70Decibels network, founded by my pal and occasional co-host, Myke Hurley. Well, 70Decibels has been acquired by the hugely successful and rather splendid 5by5 network.

Here’s what Myke says in his blog post about the move:

As the network continues to grow, our ambitions grow with it. Our hosts put out shows that deserve a larger audience, and my dream of a career in podcasting is within reach. To get to the next level, we need help. We need a better infrastructure and even more great people to support the network we have created. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that 70Decibels is going to be moving to the 5by5 Podcasting Network.

It’s great for the show because it means a wider audience. It’s great for me because hopefully I get to talk writing and whatnot to more people. But it’s even better for Myke who has poured his heart, soul and an unimaginable number of hours into realising a dream. I’m made up for him. He deserves it.
